Marquette Holds Annual Team Banquet

The Marquette women's volleyball team held its annual end-of-the-season banquet Sunday at the Alumni Memorial Union on MU's campus to celebrate the 2007 season. In addition to looking back at the season, graduating seniors, Jenn Brown, Tiffany Helmbrecht, Kimberly Todd, and Katie Weidner were honored.

Volleyball to Host Final Tournament of the Spring

Volleyball Adds Deelo to 2008 Recruiting Class

Head coach Pati Rolf announced Thursday that Amy Deelo has committed to continue her education and play volleyball at Marquette University. Deelo joins Laira Akin, Sammie Hertaus, Ciara Jones, Holly Mertens and Tiara Russell as members of the Golden Eagles' 2008 incoming class.

Four Student-Athletes Honored as National Strength and Conditioning All-Americans

The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) has awarded four Marquette University student-athletes its annual All-America Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year award. The award recognizes the student-athletes' dedication to strength and conditioning.

Junior Michelle Compty of women's soccer, junior Jessica Keiser of volleyball, senior Greg Sirotek from the men's tennis team and junior Wesley Matthews of the men's basketball team each were honored with this award.

Volleyball Opens Spring Season

The Marquette University volleyball team opened its spring season taking on Wisconsin in a five-set match Wednesday evening at the Al McGuire Center. The Golden Eagles won the second set, but the Badgers took the other four (17-25, 15-11, 20-25, 8-15, 19-25).

The Marquette volleyball team will welcome Sammie Hertaus to the squad for the 2008 season. Hertuas was officially accepted into Marquette and will be eligible to play for the Golden Eagles next season.

Former Volleyball Standout Jamie Mueller is Named 2007 McCahill Award Receipient

Mueller attended Marquette between 2003-2007 and graduated from the College of Business Administration in 2007. A native of Richfield, Wis., Mueller was named an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American at the conclusion of the 2006 season, a first-time honor for a Marquette volleyball player.

Senior Kimberley Todd became one of Marquette's first volleyball student-athletes to be honored as an All-American when she earned that distinction at the end of the 2006 season. This year, Todd has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll two times and was named the conference's Player of the Week for the week of October 8. She also earned Fist Team All-BIG EAST Honors for the second consecutive year.
