2004: Baird saw action in 19 matches as a sophomore and started in nine of those games. A solid defender, Baird helped solidify the backline. Baird notched her first career assist in a 4-1 win against Wis.-Green Bay (Sept. 17). The assist came in dramatic fashion as Baird served the ball from 35 yards into the goalie box to find Kristie Matola who headed the ball for the score. 2003: Baird played in 13 matches as a freshman. She was a capable defender, earning nine starts in her first season. Her collegiate debut was in Marquette's 1-0 win over Vanderbilt (Aug. 29). She made her first career start against Wis.-Green Bay (Sept. 16). She tore her ACL against Louisville. At Blue Valley West: Entering her final season at Blue Valley West High School, Baird is a defender/midfielder. She served as her team captain for the second straight year, was a first-team All-League selection as a junior and helped her team to a state championship. Her club team, the KCFC Alliance Revolution, has won multiple state titles, was a Region II semifinalist in 2002 and was ranked as high as eighth in the nation.
