Marshall Final Results

HUNTINGTON, W. VA - The Marquette golf team closed out the final round of the Marshall Invitational in Huntington, W. Va., Saturday, with a team score of 287. With a two-day total of 577, it finished in a tie for second out of 16 teams, 12 off the pace set by Penn State. Mike Van Sickle registered a final round one-under par 70, giving him a four-under par 138 for the tournament, as he tied for second, individually. It was his seventh consecutive top-10 finish.

The regularly scheduled 54-hole tournament was cut short by one round due to snow.

Michael Bielawski finished in a tie for fourth after carding a three-under par 68 for a total of 141 for the tournament. Ted Gray finished in a tie for 34th after shooting a one-over par 72 in the final round, giving him a total of 148. Finishing fourth for Marquette in a tie for 54th was Mike McDonald (74+77=148). He was followed by Dustin Schwab who finished in a tie for 75th (75+80=155).

Robert Rohanna of Penn State claimed medalist honors, shooting a five-under par 137.

The Golden Eagles return to action April 22-24 when they travel to Louisville, Ky., for the BIG EAST Championship.
