Sophomore (2006-07) -- Van Sickle became the first Marquette golfer to be selected to play in an NCAA Tournament, when he was one of six individuals picked to play in the NCAA Central Regional. An honorable mention All-American, Van Sickle a single season scoring mark of 71.91 to set a school record for scoring average. He was a first team All-BIG EAST selection and won three tournaments during his super sophomore season. A solid fall season led to his breakout spring season. He won the first three tournaments of the spring, capturing the Wexford Plantation, USF Invitational and Mission Inn Intercollegiate. He didn't finish out of the top 10 in the spring. At the BIG EAST Tournament, he finished second, to earn all-league honors. He shot a season best 211 in the BIG EAST Tournament. He shot a 225 at the NCAA Central Regionals to finish 17th. His statistics at the end of the year included seven sub 70 rounds and 18 sub par rounds. Van Sickle was highly honored at the end of the season. Including his All-BIG EAST and honorable mention All-America honors, he was an All-Region selection and was named the 006-07 Western Pennsylvania Golf Association's Frank Fuhrer III Award winner, presented to the area's outstanding collegiate golfer. Additionally, he won the Pennsylvania State Open, defeating a field of professionals to cap a successful season.

Freshman (2005-06) -- Van Sickle came out of the gate strong, recording Marquette's best finis in the first three events of the season. In all, he led MU in scoring five times in the year. He finished the season with a 73.53 scoring average, the second best season scoring average in MU history. He started strong, placing second in his first collegiate tournament, the John Piper Intercollegiate. He shot a 67 in his first collegiate round and finished the event at eight-under, 206. He placed fifth at The Cardinal Intercollegiate with a five-under, 211, helping MU win its first tournament of the season. He also shot a five-under, 211, at the Xavier Intercollegiate. He led MU in scoring to conclude the fall, shooting a five-under, 211, at the BIG EAST/MAC Challenge. His final round 68 helped guide MU to the tournament win. He led MU in one other event, shooting 66 against Rollins College in a dual match prior to the BIG EAST Championships. At the BIG EAST Tournament, he placed 20th, shooting one-over, 217. For the year, Van Sickle led MU with 10 under par rounds and seven rounds below 70.

Prior to Marquette -- Van Sickle was a well decorated golfer out of high school. He was ranked no. 1 on the Future Collegians World Tour golf ranking in 2004-05 and was the points leader in the 16-18 year old division. He was the Eastern Region Player of the Year by the FCWT and was a first-team All-American by the FCWT in 2004-05. He was also a member of the FCWT's All-Academic team and was the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association Junior Player of the Year. As captain of high Pine-Richland High School team, he led the squad to Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League titles in 2004 and 2005. He was a three year state championship qualifier and a two-time WPIAL section champion. Van Sickle also played basketball, lettering three times.

Personal -- Van Sickle was born December 17, 1986, in Milwaukee to Gary and Betsy Van Sickle. His father is a senior writer for Sports Illustrated and his mother was formerly the sports information director at Marquette. He is majoring in broadcast communications.
