2006-07 (Freshman) -- McDonald played in four events as a freshman, recording a 77.10 scoring average. He made his collegiate debut in the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate, recording a 236, finishing with a final-round 74. He played two other times in the fall, matching a season-best 74 in the BIG EAST/MAC Challenge. He tied his season best with a 74 in the Marshall Invitational.

Prior to Marquette -- A first-team all-state selection as a senior, McDonald was a four year letter winner at Germantown High School. He was a state qualifier three times in his career, finishing as high as second in Division 1 as a senior. A team captain as a junior and senior, McDonald was coached in high school by Gary Anderson.
