High School: McCarthy was a three-time letterwinner in track and field and cross country... Won the Division II state title in the 800m in 2006 and took third in 2007... As a junior and senior, McCarthy was the track team captain as well as team MVP.

Personal: McCarthy was born on November 3, 1988 to Linda and William McCarthy... Has three siblings, Billy, 23, Michelle, 19, and Patrick, 17... Father was a sprinter at UWM... Plans to major in Engineering.
